Just Bloggin'

Alright folks, it’s a cold Wednesday. After a couple of weeks of academic lethargy, I can truly say that I've gotten back to priority one. This is going to be a few crazy weeks as deadlines approach and final exams come up. So if you don't see me for a while, you know why. I'm studying.

As for what's going on in the continuing saga of Paul Gilbert, I have no idea. As always, continue to pray for him and for his fast recovery.

Scriptural Thought for the Day
2nd Corinthians 3:17-18 English Standard Version
...and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

I looked up the word freedom, and this is what I discovered. We can plug these definitions in the text for a personal revelation- at least that's what I did.

Freedom: Release-To set free from confinement or restraint, to relieve from something such as pain, trouble, or penalty which oppresses or burdens. Deliverance. Discharge from an obligation or responsibility.

So when we plug this into our text and paraphrase it, this is what you get: Wherever God's spirit is, there will be relief from things that oppress, and there will be deliverance there as well.

Verse 18 shows us that we need to encounter this spirit, with unveiled face, so that we may behold the glory of the Lord. You see, verse 13 says that Moses put a veil over his face so the Israelites would not gaze at the outcome of what was being brought to an end-the old way of life. The institution of the Ten Commandments or the beginning of the LAW for the Israelites, represented that now that would have to be accountable to God- one they hardly knew. In the same way, we veil our hearts when we don't want to submit to God's plan for our lives. But when we finally become persuaded that God's way is the best way for us, the veil is removed.

Tomorrow I will complete my thoughts on this passage.

I'm beginning The Remnant which is book ten in the Left Behind Series written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Some of you might know that I'm in the band Ekklesia here at Rochester College and I want to let all of those who would like to hear us ( I'll be singing and playing a couple of numbers) to come to Friday's Assembly Program.

This is all for now, so...

Until Next Time,
