Up from the grave he arose!

Hey All!

Not really doing anything. I'm in the computer lab updating my comments to some pictures of me on Facebook.

Is everyone ready for Ressurection Sunday?

Quick Note:
On Palm Sunday, I'll be ministering in song at Rochester Church of Christ. That means I will not be at my home church that day. I'd better tell somebody!

From Philosophy
Kwame Anthony Appiah has some interesting views about the current plight of Aficans (meaning all of African descent). He says that Africans aren't united by any common experiences, common languages, common relgious beliefs, or even a common race. He holds that a lot of the things that we use to describe "ourselves" are all inventions of the Western Imperialists. They do nothing but reinforce the bondage placed on us by the African Colonization. Race, therefore, is an invention used by Europeans to justify their mistreatment of Africans (the continent). Because one race is higher than an other, "we can treat them like this".

So where does that put us in postcolonial philosophy? We are only united by the the color of our skin. That's it. Although I don't necessarily disagree with Appiah, his theory seems to hold true when I look at African Americans in this country. One group is diametrically different from another.

But where does Christ come in? That's the beauty of it. The church that Christ envisions is not a church divided by social, economic, political, or racial classes. We are all one body. Is there hope? Yep. As followers of Christ, it is imperative that we begin to view others as Christ views us. Sheep. Sheep that only follow the shepered. (If you really had an imagination, you could go somewhere with this.)

If you're looking for a good daily devotional, I suggest Our Journey. It's quite insightful. I'm kind of cynical when it comes to religious writing, but I'm telling you that this devotional has been revolutionizing and refreshing my walk. There's a link on RBC Ministries' website. Here's the link: http://www.rbc.org/
I learned a new word today:
proboscis A human nose, especially a prominent one.
"Some would argue that I have a relatively large proboscis."
(Okay. That's the best I could come up with.)
Need more stuff to read?
Check this out! Pretty interesting.
Beware of the killer geese!
Has anyone noticed that the geese around campus are getting louder and more populated? Okay, maybe killer geese is a strong image, but still. Every time I turn around, there's two of them, looking right at me.
One More Thing...
I was just surfing the net and I found this: Hillarious!
